The Gramercy Method to Parting Your Hair

Depending on the cut and length of your hair, parting to the side may be better than straight down the middle. However, if you like to change up your hairstyle it helps to have a reliable method of parting that will make your style manageable. This article demonstrates how you can get the right part for the right hairstyle.

In some cases, people may feel they have better luck with a side part. Sometimes people want to hide certain facial flaws. In other cases, your hair may tend to lay toward one side more than another because of the way your hair naturally grows. To get a good even part use a large comb and try to make the region as even as possible. Be sure to do this while the hair is wet for a precise line.

For a middle part, be sure to use your nose as your guide. The part that is ideally done in the middle of your head should start from the forehead and end at the tip of the crown. For additional volume, be sure to stop about halfway and then brush the rest of the hair back toward your neckline. If you are sporting bangs, then be sure to brush your bangs forward before making your part.

Next, for a side part, we suggest finding a spot that where your hair’s natural growth and pattern will keep in place. Because of the way your hair grows on your head, not all parts will look even, and you should look for the spot where the hair will tell you where to place the line. For fuller hair, do a side part in a diagonal line.

For an even fuller look without the restrictions, try a zig-zag part by placing chunks of hair in either direction. Not only is this a gorgeous look, but it will also help to keep your locks fresh all day. In some cases, if the part becomes too hard to control, spray a brush or comb before making your sections.

These are just a few ways for you to part your hair to make it even. If you aren’t clear about what is the best way to part, ask your stylist. You might be surprised at the answer. However, you will always look and feel your best when you’re having a good hair day!
