Be gentle, not aggressive, with hair. Rough drying with a towel creates friction that weakens hair. Don’t expose hair to super-hot water in the shower as it strips strands of its natural oils. Use cooler settings on blow dryers. Hot blow dryer temps will dry and dehydrate. It makes hair brittle and more susceptible to breakage. The same is true of styling tools.
Regular trips to the barber are an essential element for maintaining healthy hair. A majority of men put off going to the barber until their hair is in desperate need. A monthly trip to the barber will aid in removing weak and unflattering split ends, help tame unruly hair, and keep styles flattering.
