Shampoo
Use a shampoo that’s gentle and utilizes natural ingredients. If the label contains a long list of chemical ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals or silicones, avoid it. Shampoos should hydrate hair, nourish the scalp, and dissolve build-up. Shampooing every day isn’t necessary. It dries the scalp and strips natural oils, leaving hair weak, brittle and dull.
Conditioner
Definitely use a conditioner 2 to 3 times per week. It nourishes, hydrates, protects and strengthens hair. The result is hair that’s shiny and revitalized. Make sure that conditioner is worked throughout all the hair and is thoroughly rinsed out – or try a leave-in conditioner.
Drying
Be gentle, not aggressive, with hair. Rough drying with a towel creates friction that weakens hair. Don’t expose hair to super-hot water in the shower as it strips strands of its natural oils. Use cooler settings on blow dryers. Hot blow dryer temps will dry and dehydrate. It makes hair brittle and more susceptible to breakage. The same is true of styling tools.
Barber
Regular trips to the barber are an essential element for maintaining healthy hair. A majority of men put off going to the barber until their hair is in desperate need. A monthly trip to the barber will aid in removing weak and unflattering split ends, help tame unruly hair, and keep styles flattering.

Hair care products featuring natural ingredients are a must, no matter what category hair falls into. Straight, wavy, curly or coily hair each has needs specific to its type and hair care products should meet those requirements.
